Every day it is doom and gloom on the news when it comes to the economy. The stock market continues to plunge, the unemployent rate is rising, and our nation’s credit score has been down graded. Rumor has it we’re headed for another recession if we ever truly got out of the first one. There doesn’t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel yet there is potential for jobs in Oregon for those looking to move west. Oregon is bursting with opportunities in the sales field, technology, nursing, and healthcare. The possibilities don’t end there but continue on with customer service, financing, and business development. Skilled labor, marketing, and transportation offer other openings as well. Automotive, food supply and banking are hiring while shipping, human resources, and hotel careers are on the horizon. Regardless of experience or interest, there are many positions, including state and federal level placements in government jobs. Oregon could truly be a land of opportunity for those willing to do their homework and relocate. Finding success is dependant upon the initiative, effort, and willingness of the individual. Being in the right place at the right time always helps. Oregon could be right.

Oregon is one of the most livable states in the nation. From the Pacific coastline to the Cascade Mountains to the desert-like terrain of Eastern Oregon, its natural beauty attracts people to come and visit. Many additional advantages make Oregon a family-friendly place to call home.

Oregon prides itself on promoting strategies to enhance both economic and environmental sustainability. This makes it the ideal place for you and your family to not only earn a living but to enjoy life together.

Whether you choose to live in the cities, suburbs, or rural areas, Oregon’s slower pace, moderate climate, and friendly people all contribute to its livability. Add the fact that Oregon has no sales tax and some of the country’s lowest property taxes, and you will find that Oregon is the ideal home for you and your family.

Educational options in Oregon include public, private, and charter schools for K-12. After high school, there are numerous community colleges, public and private universities, and vocational schools from which to choose.

Rich in cultural and recreational activities of all kinds, Oregon indeed has something for everyone. Whatever your family’s interests, you will be pleasantly surprised at the many opportunities that await you.

When you are either taking a vacation to Oregon, or making the permanent relocation to the state, you are going to have to consider the weather, and climate changes, in order to have the proper attire year round. Whether you are going to need heavier winter coats if you are moving up from a southern state, or whether you need some new clothes for the summer and fall, you are going to find that there is a mixed climate zone in Oregon. So, depending on the time of year, you are going to find extremely cold temperatures, or the warmest of days where you want nothing more than a short pair of shorts and a tank top on.

So, you are going to want a varied closet full of clothing when moving to Oregon. The winters are typically pretty mild, but if moving up from a southern state, you are going to find that the weather is colder than you are used to. So, a few new winter coats might be needed. For the fall and summer, the weather is usually in the upper 70s to mid 80s, but a few days can get pretty excrutiating out, so you want a little of everything in the closet.
